On 22 and 23 November 2022, the DecarboN8 Research Network and the Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership brought together 80 researchers, policymakers, community groups and local businesses to explore options for delivering zero carbon transport for Cumbria by 2037.
On the 22nd, we heard evidence about the different mobility futures available to Cumbria and their implications for the people that live in and visit the region. These different scenarios were developed through group discussions and participatory exercises. On the 23rd, a smaller group of participants developed the previous day’s discussions into an ‘Instant Journal’, facilitated by Nifty Fox Creative.
This journal showcases three positive future mobility scenarios which Cumbria could seek to develop, and contrasts these with the risks of doing nothing, or too little too late.
